Growing in God
"Pay attention to your patterns. The ways you learned to survive may not be the ways you want to continue to live. Heal and shift."
I love this so much because I believe this is the way God calls us to live- this is the race towards heaven. It's one step at a time, it's one foot in front of the other, sometimes it's a leap of faith or steady jog, other times it's a crawl. But it's a life of focus, and a life of constant evaluation, and change, repentance, healing, and growth. As God reveals more of Himself to us, we must choose to take the next step to follow Him.
There are set backs, there are obstacles, there are tunnels, mountains, and caves. But we have to keep running. So that we can say at the end of the day "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win." 1 Corinthians 9:24
The best thing about this race- is as Christians, we're all in it together- and we have Jesus to help us. Every day that we wake up, we must choose whether we are going to train and run in the race today. Will we study our Bibles, will we pray, will we practice love? Or will we be distracted, lazy, selfish? Every day we have a choice to grow and overcome.
It's a new day- it's a New Year- we thank God for the privilege to live another day and to have the opportunity to get to know Him better and to grow in Him. Happy New Years!
