The beginning of Kenya & Mara West

I remember bumping along in the van and later, safari vehicle, into the Mara and thinking.. this is it. I am literally in the middle of nowhere. There is nothing but just wild animals around and flat land that extends for miles.. WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO?

As we saw giraffes, and zebras, and tons of of baboons along the way, I was like wow this is crazy. This is safari-land, this is WILD.

It's difficult to explain what it's like to be in the Masai Mara, but to say it simply, it's everything you imagine when you see the Lion King and more. It's like raw beauty, desert and bush, and an entire non-pettable zoo right in your backyard. It's beautiful. And I will post pictures below.

The short term mission group who I traveled to Mara West with was kind and welcoming. They are a medical group from Florida hospital with doctors and nurses. And when we arrived to Mara West, where I am currently staying, the staff were so nice and welcoming. The camp is absolutely beautiful and very fancy actually.

Below I will post a picture of where I am staying: it is a safari like hut. I like it alot and it has two small beds with a tiny table and lamp for when there is electricity. It is recommended not to walk in the camp at night or leave the hut because of the animals.
